Facilities A completely smoke free house with modern facilities, Balmillig offers underfloor heating, excellent spacious showers and comfortable beds in a mixture of twin, double and queen bedded rooms. Free wifi internet access is available for those with laptops (we also have a laptop available for hire). All rooms have TV, alarm radio, DVD player, electric blankets and hairdryers. Breakfast Enjoy fruit juice, cereals or porridge, fruit, toasted bread, oatcakes, homemade marmalade, and a choice of freshly cooked eggs, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes and tattie scones. Have some or all; the choice is yours. Wherever possible we use quality local produce. Earlier breakfasts are available if required for earlier starts. Breakfast is served in the conservatory, so while you enjoy your cornflakes you can watch the birds and squirrels enjoying theirs! Lounge/conservatory This large heated space is comfortably furnished and has games, books and lots of information about the area. Parking and Garden There is off street parking within the spacious and colourful garden which has a patio area where you can enjoy the summer annuals as well as the varied collection of shrubs, trees and herbaceous perennials selected to support wildlife as well as providing year round fragrance, floral and foliage interest. We have a large file with menus for most local restaurants. Green issues To be as ‘green’ as possible Balmillig is built to top energy conservation standards. The garden is widlife friendly, we recycle plastics, paper etc., compost kitchen waste and have installed solar powered water heating. |
